1) New Adult Lessons Location! 2) Adult Instructors Wanted!

Hello Sigma Swimming Family!

We'd like to take the opportunity this week to make a few announcements! First and foremost, we'd like to announce that we will be making an addition to our adult lessons! For those of you south of Fort Worth, we can now offer a closer location, as we will be working with the Burleson Recreation Center ("The BRiC"). These lessons will begin on June 3rd, the first Saturday of the summer months. Have you wanted to learn how to swim? Do you have a family member who is/was a current swimmer? There has never been a better time to explore new passions and learn OR overcome a fear that has lingered in the past. We're branching out to bring these lessons to YOU, for YOU, about YOU. Adult lessons are a pivotal part of the Sigma program and we continue to put everything we can to bring the world of swimming to you all. Take a look at a personal testimony from one of our new swimmers below:

In addition to the new location, we would like to reach out to any interested adult instructors! We're looking for adults who'd be interested in sharing their love of the water with adults who are scared of the water (along with some who are not scared but don’t know the water). The goal of our beginner classes is for the student to be comfortable in deep water and comfortable along the journey getting to that deep water comfort. Coaches must be: 1. Comfortable floating (or sculling/treading for sinkers) and playing in deep water, 2. Patient and empathetic, 3. Open to learning a new way to teach scares students, 4. Good communicators, and 5. Adaptable.

We don't need Michael Phelps or ask that you be a former NCAA competitor. It is PERFECTLY OKAY if you're a newer swimmer yourself! We value effort, willingness to learn, and the aforementioned skills as paramount to our lesson environment. To see how we teach the classes (generally), you can watch our transitioning coaches training HERE For questions or to talk more, email adults@sigmaswimming.org (mailto:adults@sigmaswimming.org) or call Perry @817.320.5207 Fact of the week: The greatest love is a love that is shared. Share your love of swimming with friends, family members, and strangers too! We appreciate your continued involvement with our club and we continue to push programs that are both fun AND instructional for all levels of swimmers. How do I move up? Attend as many of your classes as possible, communicate with your instructor on your struggles, goals, and where you're at in our curriculum. We also have many adults who purchase a gym membership to 24 Hour Fitness or LA Fitness while they are taking lessons so they can practice 2-3 times between classes. Looking forward to growing the Sigma Family! Thank you for continuing to learn with us! The Sigma Team
